OVERVIEW
More of a size group with a smooth gait than a specific breed, many gaited ponies come from a background with other gaited horse breeds such as, but not limited to, the Tennessee Walking Horse, the Paso Fino Horse, the Spotted Saddle Horse, the Rocky Mountain Horse and the Missouri Foxtrotting Horse. Gaited Ponies may mature at a height up to but not including 58" tall and must do a smooth saddle gait other than a trot. Some of these gaits are the running walk, fox trot, rack, stepping pace and any of the paso gaits.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Unshod height up to, but not including, 58 inches measured at the highest point of the withers. The animal must exhibit a saddle gait other than a trot, such as, but not limited to, a running walk, fox trot, rack or stepping pace.
