Purchased November 2003, $100 (now sells for around $80)

The most disappointing camera I had purchased up to that time. Its claims on the box are greatly exaggerated in my opinion. It is a USB 2 device, but the drivers seem to be so poorly designed that, when using my 3rd party application, it could only deliver about 1 frame per second. After a few minutes, the delivered frame was actually running about 15 seconds after the actual shot. I have to admit that most of my testing was done through a USB 1 port, but I got similar results using my big computer and a USB 2 connection.

Its claim of high quality images in low light is confusing since the quality of the image I got was terrible. Even with daylight coming in through the window, it had difficulty giving me a decent picture without major manipulation of the settings beyond auto mode. This camera doesn't come anywhere near the quality of the Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 and costs nearly the same. The image quality seems to fall right in line with the other Veo products. They work well with plenty of light, but forget it in a dim room. In my opinion this is a camera to stay away from.
