Preforms nicely in bright light but slightly fuzzy in my tests under room lighting. In my monitor lighting test, the camera seems to push maximum gain and looks terrible. Taking it out of auto mode, I got either a totally dark image or the same over exposure as in auto mode. Adjusting the slider to any intermediate position gave me the washed out image as seen on the demo page.
I would recommend this camera as an entry level low cost purchase if you want a built in microphone.
